For many helicopter operators and service providers that provide helicopter transportation services to oil and gas companies operating in the offshore environment and remote areas, the contracts often include the provision of emergency services such as search and rescue and medical evacuation. Maintaining dedicated assets to fulfil such roles are often expensive and not economical.
GVH Aerospace responded to the helicopter operator’s challenge and designed a suite of quick role-change equipment to rapidly convert the first Airbus H175 helicopters introduced into the Australiasia market, from the oil and gas passenger transportation configuration into the search and rescue and medical evacuation configuration. The suite of equipment provides oxygen stowage racks and means to secure patients onto the cabin while using winching stretchers. These two brand-new H175 entered into revenue service with in East Timor, supporting the Bayu-Undan gas production operations in the Timor Sea.
