The growth of the business jet market in Asia over the last ten years is driven not only by the increase in affluence but also the rise of large Asian businesses. As with commercial aircraft, the value and relevance of these business jets depends on the ability to continuously improve the cabin experience and amenities as they provide the means to allow passengers to maintain their business productivity. This is especially important for medium to large sized business jets that are usually used for executive transportation.
GVH Aerospace was presented with the challenge of assisting the business jet MRO with refreshing the cabin of their customer’s Bombardier Global Express 5000 business jet. This includes seating reconfiguration, installation of a divan and associated floor structural engineering changes, modification of side wall and bulkheads, modifications to passenger oxygen systems and entertainment cabinets, and upgrading the cabin management system. The entire engineering package had to be completed within the 10 weeks that the aircraft is in the business jet MRO’s hangar for maintenance. GVH Aerospace completed the modification packages and obtained the necessary FAA approval within schedule and budget, and helping to deliver the aircraft back to the customer on time.
